| yeah, and? you are basing your opinion on my age. I am a business owner, I run multiple websites, I have the income to pay both my employees as well as pay for my entertainment of choice. I have replaced watching useless cable TV with podcasts, most of which are related to things that interest me (technology, web design, and gaming).The founder of Digg, Kevin Rose, brags about his PS3 and his video game consoles, and he is over 30. Alex Albrect is also over 30 and he does a show about World of Warcraft and runs a guild.There used to be a generation of people that didn't like movies, and that generation was slowly replaced by those who do. Now there is a generation of people who grew up on video games, from the Atari 2600 (I was young enough to actually enjoy the Seasme Street Atari games), NES, SNES, Genesis, Master System, etc.We now live in a generation where some video games are more entertaining and creative than some movies.Just because you see no value, doesn't mean there is no value. |

My family is doing a secret Santa this year. First of all, because they're broke. Second of all, because I absolutely hate what x-mas has become and this was the perfect time to sneak this in.Back when i was a child, xmas was all about getting together and exchanging cheap little things that made the kids happy. Nowadays people expect Ipods, videogame consoles, or blu-ray players... ***** that. That consumerist attitude is part of the reason my family is in financial trouble this year./rant

“It is hypocrisy, in my opinion, that people are okay killing cows but not pets. And it's not about "caring," really, so much as it is about recognizing pain and suffering. Even though I may not "care" about some random guy that lives on the other side of town, I would never wish harm on him) unless I somehow knew he was a ***** person or something). And I'm not basing anything on calculus... I just don't feel that it is ethically okay to blind ourselves to the suffering of other animals just because they aren't our pets. That'd be like saying that poor starving kids in Rwanda don't matter because we'll never meet them. Yes, I know that many people will say, "But that doesn't compare because they are humans," but I think when people say that, they are just avoiding the argument.

Well, I know a chinese dude whose great-grandparents built the railways in california, and he's still considered a foreigner. I've never head anyone say "European-American", but we do always hyphenate asians and africans are "Asian-American" and "African-American".
World of World of Warcraft was a superior game.!

Yeah, it will add up over the course of centuries. 2 or 3kb (maximum) of whitespace in a normal HTML document is hardly enough to worry about. Also, this infographic is illustrating certain things about HTML5, not showing you how to organize the code.?
Someone who writes only HTML and CSS documents is not a coder. They are a designer. Someone who writes HTML and CSS docs but also writes client and/or server side code is a designer and a coder.People need to stop being embarrassed of being called a "designer". Without good web designers every site would like like geocities or myspace pages and then we would be forced to put the internet out of its missery. |
