“Over 76 X more children die from pools... over 105X more children die from strangling themselves on window shutters. Both of these types of deaths are unnecessary and much more common, yet we don't hear about people protesting pool and shutter manufacturers. In fact, nobody gives a second thought of how gun responsible most gun owners actually are; how else can you explain the rarity of these tragedies in a nation that has 9 guns for every 10 people?

This is a huge mistake on the part of Samsung. Their product line is currently 80% Windows Mobile and 20% Symbian. So without content lock-in or ecosystem (like the iPhone) or addicted user-base (like RIM), Samsung is going whip up a new OS without any previous experience in handheld OSs (like Palm). They really need better hardware (like Nokia), and some killer apps of their own that fit into their overall business (like Google).Otherwise, Samsung will be facing a pretty bleak future in the mobile phone market (like Window Mobile).Really, I don't get it. Why wouldn't they go with Android? It's free, comes with tons of apps, and does everything they need. I don't understand why any mobile hardware maker on Windows Mobile or Symbian wouldn't migrate to Android. |
